How many of you love Starbucks even though you don't order anything that has coffee in it? My hand is raised...or both! There are actually a ton of healthy drink options there that are low in calories and don't include one drop of coffee. One of my personal favorites is their Green Tea Frappuccino. Never tried it? Well now you can! In your own home for even less the calories. It is amazing :)
This drink only has 105 calories and makes 2 cups! The most important ingredient is called Matcha Green Tea Powder. Yes, you have to make a special trip to your local whole or natural foods market but it is worth the trip and investment.
1. With all the listed ingredients below, throw them all in a blender and mix! It is as easy as that.
Serving size: 1 person or 2 cups
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut milk
2 tsp. sugar (I used my coconut sugar)
1 tsp. Matcha Green Tea powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup crushed ice
1 tsp. chia seeds (optional)
Nutritional Facts:
Calories: 105 or 158 with chia seeds
Calories from fat: 45 or 75 with chia seeds
Sodium: 150 mg. 6%
Sugar: 8g
In the Starbucks version they of course use the sweeter version of everything. Cane sugar instead of coconut sugar, vanilla syrup instead of vanilla extract, and regular milk instead of coconut milk. You can do a straight switch with these ingredients but of course increasing your calorie intake. But if I remember correctly it is still over 200 calories and sugar content is through the roof!
